Our Commitment to Quality

At Enfield Folland Park Kindergarten, we are dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for all children. Our recent assessment under the National Quality Standard (NQS) reflects our ongoing efforts and achievements.

Here are some highlights from our assessment report that showcase our strengths:

Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice: “Educators respond to children’s ideas and play and extend children’s learning through open-ended questions, interactions and feedback. For example, an educator was observed asking a child reflective questions about kicking the soccer ball… encouraging the child to problem solve using distance and changing the goals to extend their learning and engagement.”

Quality Area 2 – Children’s Health and Safety: “Healthy eating and physical activity are promoted and appropriate for each child. For example, educators were observed sitting with children at mealtimes and were modelling healthy nutrition practices… Children had the opportunity to eat outside of set mealtimes with dedicated eating spaces.”

Quality Area 3 – Physical Environment: “Outdoor and Indoor spaces are organised and adapted to support every child’s participation and to engage every child in quality experience in both built and natural environments. For example, the outdoor has multiple spaces for exploration including, sandpit, mud kitchen, multi-purpose play spaces and climbing structures… The indoor environment has spaces for individual and group play, which offered varying materials such as playdough with various tools, and paint for self-exploration.”

Quality Area 4 – Staffing Arrangements: “The service is meeting Standard 4.1 and has also achieved Exceeding Theme 3: Practice is shaped by meaningful engagement with families and/or the community… Staffing arrangements enhance children’s learning and development… through meaningful engagement with the families to revise their staffing arrangements by adapting operational hours.”

Quality Area 5 – Relationships with Children: “Children are supported to regulate their behaviour and communicate effectively. For example, a child was observed trying to play with another child, where the child was saying no… The educator then supported both children to negotiate their rights and problem solve how both children could engage while still allowing the first child to engage independently if they would like.”

Quality Area 6 – Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities: “Families are supported from enrolment to be involved in the service and contribute to service decisions. For example, the enrolment provides families with the opportunity to visit the service and become familiar with the service before their child starts.”

Quality Area 7 – Governance and Leadership: “Systems are in place to manage risk and enable the effective management of a quality service. For example, the service has efficient and effective systems to allow the service to manage organisational risks in a timely manner.”

We are committed to continuous improvement and are actively working on areas identified for development. For more information about the National Quality Framework and service ratings, please visit the ACECQA website.

“The children can teach us because they welcome everything. The children can teach us how to be open to others and to their difference.  They can teach us to be open to understanding that we are so extra ordinary because we are unique, because we are different.”
