Our Curriculum:
Our curriculum reflects current research that suggests children learn best through play because it is meaningful to them. Here at Enfield Folland Park Kindergarten we aim to create a safe playful environment that will encourage and enhance your child's learning. Every child is different, with varying needs, interests and skills. Every child is capable of being a successful learner.
Teachers at the kindergarten plan the educational program based on the "South Australian Curriculum Standards and Accountability" (SACSA) Framework.
This covers the areas of:
- Self and Social Development
- Communication and Language
- Health and Physical Development
- Design and Technology
- Understanding Our World
- Diversity
- Arts and Creativity
The program is planned fortnightly with a focus that emphasises the development of literacy, numeracy and social skills. By doing this we aim to develop each child's ability to their fullest potential.
Why is regular attendance at Kindergarten so important?
Enfield Folland Park Kindergarten believes that children who attend Kindergarten regularly have opportunities to:
- Develop friendships - Joining in with a group, playing together, negotiating with other children and having fun.
- Learn new things - Cooperation, being a leader, having a go at something new, sharing ideas, taking turns and solving problems.
- Build on what they have learnt - Practising and refining new skills, extending their thinking and knowledge.
- Follow a routine - Developing independence, taking care of belongings, following instructions, separating from parents/carers, organizing their time and packing up.

If children regularly miss their Kindergarten sessions they do not have the opportunity to learn these important foundations for educational success.
We therefore encourage regular attendance at Enfield Folland Park Kindergarten because we truly believe that a child's opportunity to develop the skills required to attain educational success begins in Early Childhood.
